About Me
My name is Jesse Ross. I am a designer, developer and artist based out of the Twin Cities in Minnesota. Yes, I am based out of both of them: by day, I am a web designer for interactive firm Sevnthsin in Minneapolis; by night I am an instructor at the College of Visual Arts in Saint Paul.
When I am not teaching or doing design work, I am actively involved in open source and the web. I work on a few open source projects, most notably I am the primary artist for both Etoile and GNUstep. Since most of my work revolves around the web, I am a big net-addict. For example:
- I respond quicker to email than phone calls.
- My favorite regular television shows aren’t on the television at all, but rather are video blogs.
- All my news comes to me via RSS and Atom feeds.
- I’m much more likely to turn to Google than my own memory.
- When deprived of a steady connection, I begin to cry.
That said, my whole world doesn’t revolve around the computer. I am a big fan of roller derby, learning languages (Mandarin Chinese at the moment), drawing pretty pictures, flying around the world, and rocking out to some good tunes.

I’m the slightly less cute one on the left. The slightly more cute one on the right is my amazing daughter, Ali.
