Late nights involving pizza, Mountain Dew and the undead
29 March 2005 | 0For those of you who are unaware, my genesis involved three things: comic books, alternative music and Dungeons and Dragons. Yes, Dungeons and Dragons. And now I play on computers… it’s confirmed, I am a geek. Well, I haven’t played D&D for quite some time, but I do still make the occassional pit stop at the local game store and check out what’s new in the realm of roleplaying games. At my last such excursion, I stumbled across quite a gem: Pokéthulhu.
Pokéthulhu is not new. It looks like the last version was published in 2002. But man is it hillarious. It’s Pokémon meets Call of Cthulhu, or, more specifically, Call of Cthulhu. You gotta love when kids become cultists in search of rare, cuddly undead beasts to trap and use in their own personal harmless battles. Genious.
Oh, and while I may not play roleplaying games anymore, it’s hard to beat this kind of humor.
